Stainless steel

Simone Prouvé's weaving of stainless steel demystifies the image of resistance and rigidity associated with this material. She succeeds in taming and giving expression to stainless steel by making of these metallic threads something poetic, when they have generally remained confidential outside the industrial sector.

Natural fibers

Wool, linen, cotton… natural fibers are the basis for learning for weavers. To these animal and vegetable fibres, Simone Prouvé has added horsehair, an indestructible and rot-proof material.

Polyethylene

Polyethylene is the flagship material for translucency. To let only the light filter through and nothing else, Simone Prouvé weaves polyethylene panels combining incredible lightness with unsuspected robustness.

Aramids

On aramids, Simone Prouvé conducted passionate research. Aramids include a set of non-flammable or hardly flammable fibers which, despite a limitation of shades, offer an infinite number of possibilities for weaving.
